Analyze This: Your Business Process Analytics Strategy May be Hurting your Business

By Dan Berthiaume
As BPO services have become far more sophisticated than the “lift and shift” offerings of 10-15 years ago, BPO buyers have become far more sophisticated in how they obtain value from those services. Most BPO clients realize there is a tremendous amount of value contained in the data generated by outsourced business processes, and efforts to analyze this data are becoming increasingly common.

Data Gets Big
However, a new wrinkle has appeared in the sphere of business process analytics. The amount of data most organizations now generate has grown exponentially in the past few years, creating a volume of information so vast it is popularly referred to as “Big Data.” Big Data is a collection  of all the data surrounding a company, including relevant data generated by social media sites, blogs, mobile devices, sensing technologies, and other sources which were non-existent or fringe technologies only a few short years ago. For many business and social media professionals, what lies at the heart of all this Big Data remains a mystery.

All they really know is they are overloaded with information and aren’t sure how to unlock the deeper meaning hidden within. And extracting that information in the wrong way, or obtaining it but not understanding how to properly use it, can be more damaging than not having it at all.

Webinar Answers Vital Big Data Questions
To help BPO buyers and practitioners better understand what is going on with Big Data and how it can be turned into a competitive advantage for outsourcing participants, BPO Outcomes is hosting a special webinar on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 2:00-3:00 PM EDT. The webinar, “Analyze This: Your Business Process Analytics Strategy May be Hurting your Business,” will explain how enterprise finance and IT leaders can take a holistic approach to obtaining meaningful “Big Data” insights that are truly directed at improving business outcomes.

The webinar will include an introductory presentation from moderator Kirk Laughlin, CEO of NextCoast Media, as well as presentations from panelists Ben Trowbridge, Founder and CEO of Alsbridge, and Terence Sandiford, Solutions Director, BPO Analytics of Capgemini. Following the presentations will be an audience Q&A session with panelists Trowbridge, Sandiford, and BPO Outcomes Managing Editor Dan Berthiaume.

Specific topics the webinar will examine include:

  • How to avoid the further build-up of information silos.
  • Best case examples of BPO analytics.
  • What the BPO market can learn from the maturity and standards established in IT.
  • The inter-mingling of BPO and big data and what it means to finance executives.
